Huntington Beach State Park

We are spending this week at Huntington Beach State Park in Murrell's Inlet, SC about 25 miles south of Myrtle Beach. It has become sort of an annual event to rendezvous here with Durelle's brother Mart and his wife Ann as they head north for the summer. It is absolutely one of our very favorite places to camp. It is a large, sprawling setup with over a hundred sites, lots of ranger led activities, great bird watching, and literally miles of nearly uninhabited beach. This is probably our tenth or so visit. I thought I would be able to post a good alligator or bird picture or two...maybe later. Today we took the pups to the beach for one of the rare occasions where they can romp off lead. I was a bit worried about Baxter who six months ago was a stray. I made sure he knew who had some treats and tested him a bit then let go. We've done it many times wth Belle so I wasn't worried about her. She knew the rules. Look at her run. She was 14 in January and is still an energetic, happy pup.
