First, I'll describe the pictures. There is one of the village of Waldport, OR as seen from the campground. There are two taken along the way down 101 on the coast. One is another one of those rocky spires that populate the Oregon coast, and another is a lighthouse. Durelle took that one. I told you that it was a good camera. The last one of Belle was taken twenty feet behind our bus here in Crescent City, CA. The caption is,"I'm sure glad I squat to pee; I'd hate to have to tip up on that stump!" This is redwood country. We'll tour some of the forest before we head out to Prospect, OR and Crater Lake.
Today was a couple of hundred miles, and when we had only eked out 27 miles during the first hour, I was a bit worried. The pace picked up. We pulled off at a number of opportunities; sometimes as a courtesy to quicker and/or commercial traffic, sometimes to enjoy the views and/or take a few pictures. Again, this road only allowed 7 mpg. There was an interesting confusion on campgrounds. There are two Redwood Forest RV Parks. One is a KOA; the other isn't. We stayed at the one that isn't. Their signage left a bit to be desired. I overshot their entrance; and, to Durelle's consternation, I made a U-turn on 101 with the Jeep attached. When we pulled in the majesty of the redwoods caused Durelle to exclaim, "Well, there goes the Major League Baseball package." Actually she is graciously getting by with a sparsely populated cable setup, but I wouldn't want to test her equanimity for more than a day.
