Marquette,MI

This was a quiet day, no touring, just relaxing although Durelle took advantage of our first sewer site in a week to do several loads of wash. The pictures are along the shore of Lake Superior: one is a sunset, one is Belle bounding headlong along the beach. Cindy says she has the verticle leap of Larry Bird, but you can see that the old girl has all four feet in the air. The last shot shows that we parked up at the entrance to the "Gitchee Gumee" campground so that we could get satellite access. As a side benefit, we have a view of the lake. The sunsets here are late. First of all we couldn't be much further west and still be in the eastern time zone. Secondly, we are north. So, even though we are more than a month after the solstice, sunsets are late (and pretty). Tomorrow we head further north and west (still in the eastern time zone) to Copper Harbor. Again, you should check your atlas. We'll spend a couple of days there and then head south and west.

I think you should invite guest blogger Belle to contribute a post someday. She seems to be particularly enjoying your travels and discoveries. Love the pictures, as always, but I dispute the cliche: a picture is worth a thousand words. I suggest it depends on the words and the wordsmith.
