Sioux Falls, SD

Today we left Mantador, ND after the Mertes' left for church. It was a very special visit with old friends. It was tempting to stay longer. Belle, in addition, absolutely relished a couple of days without a leash. It was a 200 mile day straight south on I-29 to the intersection with I-90. As you can see from the windshield shot, we have reached the great plains. Out here one has to change his perspective from acres to square miles. Tomorrow we'll drive to Ellsworth AFB and spend four days so that we can tour the Black Hills and the Badlands. Speaking of National Parks, yesterday one of the major arches in Arches National Park in Utah collapsed. The next few days should generate some more interesting pictures.

Hey Frank, no bugs on the windshield! Great job washing it at the farm ;) Missed seeing the bus when we came home from church. The woodchuck showed up after you left...of course...arghhh! Wonderful having you here. Come again anytime. Jo

I ditto Jo's remarks. The yard is so empty without you! Thank you for stopping to see us. It was a great time! I got to reading more of your blog this afternoon. Very interesting. I'm going to be tracking you from now on. Have a safe trip. Esther ---- and Ted too.

Looks like some magnificent scenery there Dad. Why do I think Mom was watching the PGA instead of the road?
