End of an Era

Tomorrow Bernie and Ann Dunn will be turning their motorhome over to a new owner, heading back to Cape Cod and concluding a decade of being our camping buddies (there were other decades before they met us).  Today we all helped a little as they transferred all their "stuff" from the motorhome to a U Haul trailer for transport back to the Cape.  Never before in the annals of motorhoming has anyone managed to put more stuff into a 34 foot motorhome.  There was one box of nothing but cookbooks!
The picture above shows Ann packing dishes.  For their last evening here eleven of us went up to Papa J's for supper.  The two one hundred dollar gift certificates that Bernie and I had almost took care of the total bill.  There could not have been a more appropriate use for them.  Below are several candid shots in the restaurant.
As we left the restaurant there were a number of emotional good-byes.
Tomorrow their motorhome will be making the trip up to Eddington, ME.  I will be following with the Dunn's car and U Haul trailer because Ann is not comfortable pulling the trailer.  She will be driving our Jeep.  After the transfer, they will depart for Cummaquid, MA, and I will return with the Jeep to Belfast, ME.  While they have stopped motorhoming, they have not stopped traveling, and we all look forward to rendezvousing with such good friends many times in the future.

Catching up on a week's worth of posts. Seems like you're going out in a blaze of glory. Looking forward to visiting next summer - hopefully for two weeks.
